Hello,

I've been playing with your new program and noticed you have only released it in English. With the iPhone 3G worldwide launch, I would imagine you could easily increase your exposure and download rate by having it translated into Spanish and Italian, two of the largest iPhone audiences outside America. I have been providing translation services to many online web apps and have recently become involved in translating iPhone apps for their developers so that audiences in Latin America and Europe have more incentive to purchase their product.

I am not a big company, otherwise I wouldn't be soliciting you directly, but my services are inexpensive and the real world ROI is exponential. Depending upon how many words you require for translation my fee ranges between $85-$135 for iPhone applications. If you are interested in doing business, I would be happy to oblige. Just reply to this email!

Either way, I wish you and your company well in your current and future endeavors.

Respectfully,

Yanina Diaz

@Kepesk: I was going to originally post about how offline functionality would require a significant coding effort to provide a feature that would only be used by a small portion of users. While I do believe this, it is not the correct answer. Matt's answer is the correct one.

Actually, now that I've decided to speak up about this great program, I thought I might make a suggestion.

I don't know how difficult this would be to implement, but it came to me when I was thinking about my vacation in the backwoods of Eastern Oregon. I found about four places within hiking distance of my campsite (usually on top of surrounding hills) where I got Edge signal and was therefore able to create a wall. It was great fun leaving those messages, and I even left a couple pointing out interesting things in the area.

However, the 3G has the capability of locating itself through GPS without data signal. It would be fun if we could create a wall at a location without signal, but communication with the server about this wall could be deferred until we actually got signal. This way, someone who is at a point (say, on top of a hill) within the 1000 meter range could read messages that are pinned to the actual location rather than just get directions from a message pinned to the top of the hill.

Uh... let me give an example. Let's say I find a cave or a cool rock or something in a remote valley, and post a wall about it. However, I don't have signal, so the program stores the wall, message, and location, and then posts the wall the next time I open Graffitio it and have signal. So the next time a person is standing on a ridge with signal overlooking the valley (with an iPhone), they can see the wall when they are in range, and are able to use the cool distance field in rel3 to tell how far away the wall is.

Am I making any sense?

Also, this feature could allow people to post walls in little towns with no or intermittent signal that might get a cell tower at a future date. I have a lot of family who live in towns like that.

Anyway, I just thought I'd chime in. Keep up the good work!

I'm seriously looking forward to what release 3 has in store. I can't find any flaws since I got release two and the database got moved.

I find leaving invisible messages everywhere to be much more entertaining than any iPhone game I've tried. I even left a few messages in the backwoods of Eastern Oregon during my vacation last week. I wonder if anyone will ever find them...

Thanks for making a great app!

I don't think they evaluate the code for stability as much as privacy / policy issues.

They pulled a game from the store a few days ago because it had a feature that showed you when your friends were playing it, but the way it did that was, it uploaded your entire contact list to their servers.

Apple didn't like that they didn't disclose that.

I think it was called Aurora Feint or something - not my cup of tea anyway.

The point is, it somehow pass the initial test and made it into the store, only to be pulled later - perhaps someone complained to Apple, or maybe they periodically review apps that are already released.

Yet somehow apps like "dots" and "loopt" are left crashing left and right or not working at all.. Makes you wonder how thorough these approvals are.

I know release 2 took around 3 weeks, but another app that I was waiting for was just released after a 10 day waiting period. I think Apple may have hired people or otherwise applied more resources to the app approval process - here's hoping it won't be long!

Well I just recently saw a handfull of my apps getting update last night... And if I remember correctly most of my other apps got updated last Sunday... So worst case scenario rel3 will be in the app store by next Sunday? (I hope it comes up sooner)
