I finally got Ad Hoc Provisioning working, so I’m opening up a Release 3 Beta. If you’re interested, please send your location, type of hardware (iPhone, iPhone 3G, or iPod Touch), and device identifier to rel3beta@graffit.io.
To get your Device Identifier:
- Connect your iPhone or iPod Touch to your computer
- Open iTunes and select your device in the left sidebar
- On the Summary Tab, next to the picture of your device, click on the word “Serial Number”. It will change to “Identifier”
- From the menu bar, select Edit, Copy. (There’s no need to highlight the identifier)
- Paste it into your message.

Ad-Hoc Install without Synch.
Just a quick note to anyone who doesn’t want to go through the synch process to install this app if they get accepted.
If you sign up for the SDK (it’s free through apple)
When you connect your phone, it’ll prompt you to either have xcode ignore the device, or use it for dev. Choose use it for dev, and then you can view it in the Organizer. If it doesn’t come up on it’s own you can get to it via “Window/Organizer” in xcode. Select the plus sign to install the app, and select the extracted file.
You may get a warning about not being able to find the app map, but this did not affect the end result for me and the update installed flawlessly.
Wait until you see Rel3 btw, it is a brilliant step forward from Rel1 we’ve all been using. If you need any help hit me on aim: bikrdotnet

Can’t wait to see rel 3 if I’m picked. Out of curiosity, did everyone’s walls disappear? I can’t see any of the ones I created now. Also, has anyone here actually experienced an entry added by someone else? It seems like I’m the only one playing with the app in my area.
you would need ask to do my method but not to install an adhoc app. Also if you want to apply I suggest checking out adhoc helper in the app store. It let’s you easily email your device Id and it’s free

I cant install the app. I drop the 2 icons on the iTunes folder and click replace on the 2 popups. Then i sync but its still the same old graffitio.
That’s odd.. What if you remove graffitio first, from the apps folder and the iphone , then drop the 2 files and synch?
thats what i had to do. i had to delete the app from both spots. i tried only getting rid of one and i was having the same problem. delete both and it should work then.
Yes, I have had a post on one of my walls last week. It was short and sweet but it felt good to get a response! People just need to buy more iPhones.
Nay.. People need to d/l this app.. Once rel 3 hits the appstore, I’m sure it’ll start blowing up! Rel3 is really leaps and bounds over Rel1

I never heard what the final verdict was with the infinity walls vs. city-infinity walls vs. “themed” infinity walls and how the grading scale (plus/minus) was going to work on local walls… Otherwise, I’m psyched about Rel3!!
Nay Nay. I think more people need to buy the iphone for a more local experience. Only 400 or so Iphones were sold in my town as of last week so i think more purchases need to be made. But im sure Rel3 will be very very cool.

I’m just a user. :) I’m pretty sure though that you can email bugs to the address used to signup and discuss general stuff here. As for regional walls I’d like to think they are on their way but that’s up to Anoop.. This is shaping up to a decent community maybe we should consider a forum if we get any bigger to discuss the app and request support/features.
I too had to uninstall rev1 before rev3 would come up. I frequently get “The Grafitio servers are unreachable…” though, this has happened on and off all day today and yesterday. Are there really outages? If so, are all outages reported on the website?
Oh! Any change of making the distance units configurable? (IE: Let people in the US change meters to miles)
Still using rel 3, but i cant reach the server in the majority of cases… pretty frustrating as of now, but tomorrow is a new day! Mout
Release 3 is a major improvement over release 1, I really appreciate the status updates. That was the major thing for me, not knowing what it was doing (or if it was doing anything).
I like seeing how far away the walls are, too.
This is one of the best networking apps available!!! I wish Apple would approve the updates already :( But in the meantime adhoc is definitely the way to go ;)

I appologize for not knowing all the current features. Does graffitio allow you to associate a picture with a wall?
Say I’m in front of a sandwich shop, I create a new wall, Take a picture of the store front, and add a comment about the meatball subs. Is this currently possible or is it only text?
Rich, it’s only text right now. Maybe in the future releases there will be photo capabilities but then that means that they’ll have to be monitored for porn or any other unwanted images. It’s bad enough that the infinite wall just might need moderation soon.
Or you can just look on the back of your device for the serial number..
Please graffitio….in your new release, we some some control…..there are 1 or 2 inviduals who are ruining your app that has great potential to a lot of fun
